| Rafe Totengco took a leap of faith and left his Manila-based fashion business to make it in New York in 1989. He then launched his namesake accessory line, Rafe, which he has since developed into an international brand consisting of women's shoes, bags, small leather goods, belts and jewelry in 1996. Even though sightings of celebrities and chic strangers wearing his creations are commonplace, they never cease to inspire him. Rafe's motivation is to make life brighter and easier and make his customers smile. His recognitions include: nominee for the CFDA's Perry Ellis award (1999), recipient of the "Rising Star" award from The Fashion Group International (2000), and the "Best Accessories Designer ACE"award from The Accessories Council (2001) |
